Jericho's Wish Animal Rescue is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization that was founded in February 2013. I have always been an animal lover my whole entire life. I have had the pleasure of owning everything from a fish to a horse. I worked at an emergency animal hospital, Equine Vet, worked on a horse farm, fostered kittens for a Philadelphia animal shelter, volunteered at Burlington County Animal Shelter and then fostered dogs/puppies for the Burlington County Animal Alliance. Fostering for Burlington County Animal Alliance started me out on the journey to start a animal rescue.
Jericho's Wish pulls dogs/puppies from high kill shelters to save them from euthanasia. After they are pulled from the shelters they will go to a local vet to make sure they are up to date with their shots, HW-, spayed/neutered and healthy. Once they arrive in NJ they will go into a foster home where they will receive love and companionship.
In October of 2012, Jericho came to us to foster in order to help him with his heart worm treatment. The treatment was a success! Everything was going like it should be, Jericho was going to find a home. Even though we were falling in love with him, we knew one day he would walk out the door to his forever home (the way it's supposed to be). Then the unthinkable happened, Jericho was diagnosed with a slipped disc. Neither the rescue nor I had the funds available for the ($5000.00) surgery. In order to treat him we did everything that we could from cage rest/medicine to acupuncture. Nothing was working. As such a short time passed, Jericho went lame in his back legs. Understanding that he was in pain there was only one other option that could be done, the unthinkable. On 1/11/13 Jericho crossed over the rainbow bridge, this was the day a” promise “was made. I promised after his passing that I would try to rescue as many dogs as I could in his name.
